KTIC AM reports: Child Nutrition backed by Senators:
"In a letter to President-elect Barack Obama, the lawmakers said added funding for the new legislation is critical to improving child health and for increasing the participation of low-income children, particularly because of deteriorating economic conditions."

Kids Nutrition in Obama's Eyes
Will Obama follow the Senators lead?
"A bipartisan group of 38 U.S. Senators has joined hands to urge the incoming Administration to provide new funding for re-authorizing and funding of federally-sponsored school breakfasts and lunches and snacks and meals in after-school and child care settings. In a letter to President-elect Barack Obama, the lawmakers said added funding for the new legislation is critical to improving child health and for increasing the participation of low-income children, particularly because of deteriorating economic conditions. "
I hope that Obama takes special consideration when discussing kids nutrition. While he may believe that health care is a right for all individuals, I hope he believes that properly balanced and nutritious meals for kids in schools is an even more urgent right.
...Lets do away with that ruling in schools that ketchup is indeed a vegetable serving...
sigh.
Maybe try to help all public school kids have the same quality foods that your girls will have at Sidwell Friends.
