Why does this smoothie banish the groggies?
Banana is high in potassium and fiber. High energy, high quality carbs.
Ginger is spicy, warming and eases a queasy early morning stomach.
Cayenne is stimulating and inspires circulation. A bold dose of cayenne will wake up your taste buds and senses. Add to taste.
Lemon Juice is high in vitamin C and has a vibrant astringent quality. Alkalyzing. (optional ingredient)
Blueberries are rich in antioxidants, fiber and phytochemicals. Plus a sweet energizing flavor.
Coconut Water Ice Cubes are rich in hydrating electrolytes.

JB,
Yes it would. If you added some coconut water instead of all soy milk it would be an AMAZING hangover smoothie. The coconut water will add a lot of electrolytes and potassium-very important when you are dehydrated and drained…
better yet…make coconut water ice cubes for the smoothie.

I know this isn’t the point of the wonderful healthy smoothie, BUT…this would make an excellent hangover cure as well. I’m going to make sure we have all the ingredients before our next big party. Thanks for the recipe!
